About Me
Hi, I’m Oli, allow me to briefly introduce myself.
From as early as I can remember sport has always fascinated me. Most specifically, my love for Coventry City Football Club. As a club who experienced some troubled times, never would you see anything about Coventry on television. Instead to satisfy my craving for Coventry content, I would turn to the radio and local newspaper.
Their coverage of the team I loved glamourised this form of written and broadcast media for me, and this is something I have never lost having grown through teenage years, adolescents and adulthood. However, pursuing a career resulting from my personal interests was not something I had properly considered until my final year at Northumbria University.
Having decided to study Sports Management in the brilliant city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, my perspectives developed and evolved, leading to a realisation of what direction I want to take my life. Combine my love of sports with a love of untraditional storytelling.
This takes you to the present day where, armed with a first class degree and a number of months travelling in my back pocket, I find myself wanting to share sporting stories from all over the globe.
Through my travels I have realised that sport is a universal language, and there are an uncountable amount of inspiring individuals and spell binding stories that deserve to be told – and I want to tell them.
Below is a list of some of my professional publications, as a result of an internship in my final year of university and voluntary opportunities self attained through my personal network. The rest of this website constitutes work I have amalgamated (unless otherwise stated) completely voluntarily and having recognised my passions in life.
I hope you enjoy!
